Program Description Economic issues have become an integral part of our daily lives. In the age of globalization, we are becoming citizens of the world. The Economic courses at CBU prepare students with the confidence and knowledge to enter the professional world of economics by developing a sound perspective on the local and global economy. Economics is a social science concerned with the efficient use of scarce resources in production, exchange, and consumption, to attain the maximum level of satisfaction of society’s needs. The subject covers a wide range of material, exploring consumer behaviour, supply and demand, international trade and finance, labour market, plus social and public choice. Advances in information technology make it virtually impossible not to be aware of important economic issues. Economic professors at CBU are dedicated and engaged professionals who stay on top of developments in the global economy, providing students with up to date knowledge on creation and distribution of wealth, labor disputes, unemployment, inflation, high taxes, rising oil prices, pollution worsens, and international trade. Through enforced enrolment caps, CBU students and faculty get to know each other on a professional and personal basis. Students are afforded every opportunity to participate in class and laboratory learning. Our business students have the advantage of a well-rounded education thanks to a burgeoning international student population on campus and an Exchange Program, allowing students to travel to other countries and earn university credits at the same time.
